Imogen Cooper has been the President of the Oxted & Limpsfield Music Society since 2007, during which time the prestige of her association with us has helped to attract international artists of the highest level, as well as the most talented emerging musicians. She has recently established a Trust whose aim is to enable young pianists to work with her, having individual mentoring in a peaceful rural environment. A quote from her about this initiative:
"I would like to give back to a younger generation the generosity of time that Alfred Brendel and others gave to me."
To support Imogen in this, and to celebrate 10 years of having her as our President, we have organised a special event aiming to raise enough money for the Trust to provide 2 bursaries. She will play an exceptional programme for us.
The concert will include anecdotes about her career, some of the evening's composers and their compositions, and she will tell us more about the Trust. Imogen will also join us for a post-recital reception with drinks and canapés provided by a noted professional caterer.
Please come to this very special event, not only in support of Imogen's Trust and a new generation of talented pianists but also as a mark of our appreciation of her presidency. You will hear a programme of the finest music played by this world-class pianist whom we are extremely proud to be associated with. All profits will be donated to the Imogen Cooper Music Trust, a registered charity.
